Every building has its characteristic, and renovating it without removing its original characteristic can be very challenging. However, challenge should not become huge problem to designers because they have set of skills to overcome it, and they are trained for this kind of situation. Regarding to this, we can say that every time the duty calls, that is the time for designer to start thinking how to overcome the challenge. Sofia Petrova of Sof Arch Art had great experience in overcoming the challenge. It was when the designer needs to create a design for loft. Originally built as industrial building and now turns into dwelling, we cannot just make some transformations and modifications offhandedly. Loft has characteristics, and the designer needed to keep them. Knowing the owner is a man with adventurous spirit, the designer decided to create a place that looks a bit like a gallery. Using natural materials such as brick, wood, and metal as well the minimalist modern design, the designer brings specific contrast to the loft. This way the owner can enjoy watching works of art collected during his travels pleasantly.
Sofia Petrova also set an intermediate platform; a perfect place for the dwellers to enjoy the time meditating, reading, and contemplation while enjoying the scenery outside the building. This plan worked perfectly thanks to the six-meter height in the living room. The designer also adds dynamic accents to the living room and the bedroom through two art-installations, The Secret Garden and Urbanus Folklor.
